Are you a contol freak? Do you have to have command over your setup, in minute detail? Do you monitor your system like a technician in a nuclear reactor's control room? Do you enjoy visual and audio feedback from your charges? If you answered yes to these, the Sentry LXE touchscreen external fan controller from NZXT is probably for you...More.

59.99 is a good price i'd think for what your actually getting. i paid 54$ for my Lian-Li TR5B, and thats not nearly as complicated as this unit.

    No CMOS battery (included) though?

I do like that my Lian-Li emits a extremely loud audio alarm and the whole unit changes from blue to a flashing red. Does this NZXT unit have that function? i noticed the pezzo' buzzer on the pci card. I've purchased a NZXT fan controller before for the electronic tint gibson chassis , but even though that had a buzzer built in, it doesn't emit a audio alarm.

maybe a tilt function would be nice, but as you said with the no-slip feet it might complicate more then accentuate.

If i was in the market for another fan controller, i'd definitely consider this as a option for sure, i like the look, the functions and the design.

It does in fact come with a CMOS battery, and has an audible alarm programmable for each temperature probe.

I wonder if it will perform better than previous Sentry models. I had all sorts of issues with mine. It kept resetting the time/date, even after swapping the battery out.

That's why I like my sentry 2 - no time/date to worry about

I want one of the internal versions of this - the LX I think it is, for unimatrix - I really need to fill some 5.25" bays up heh and that's a sweet looking fan controller....

Course I'm saving up for a 2600k at the moment so idn if I'll get one - time will tell but they're scary expensive over here

Current Projects: Lobo | Unimatrix | High Voltage | Antec 900 Revamp (Phase 2)
Completed Projects: General Lee | Synergy Green | Liquid Yellow
    Planned Projects: K-9-PC | Limey

    Hi ,
I am new to this forum & liked the detailed review of this controller.thanks for review and great pics.
I was looking earlier today at a preview of the BitFenix Outlaw chassis and thought that this external version of a temp/fan controller could work nicely with it !
