    Default Kickstarter.com

My friend introduced me to this new website, kickstarter.com. I found it really interesting, it's basically a site where you make a profile and you can post a new idea, piece of art, or any sort of project that you're working on and the community there, if they're interested, will donate to your cause.
There is a catch though. Say you post that you need $2000, and you plan to be that project or whatever in 30 days, if you don't raise to that $2000 mark you don't get any of that money and it goes back to the people that donated it.
So I thought this was a very interesting website.
    Enjoy!

I wonder if I should do one to get funding for my UAV/autopilot ideas...

    EDIT: Blegh... US only...

EDIT2: Should mention I made the 2nd line after I looked it up more.

I thought you could only post project proposals by invite only, and you had to have some pedigree so people knew you would do it. Is that not the case?

I have no clue, my friend told me about it. I don't know all the details but I don't think it's an invite only thing.
