Default Kingston SSDNow not recognised in windows server 2008 R2

SO I had an odd problem today and wanted to post it up in case others might have issues.

I have 2 identical systems here. SuperMicro SS6016T's with the X8DTL-i motherboard.

Yesterday I loaded the first system with RHEL5.4 with no issues. Today I try and load Server 2008 R2 on the other system and Windows does not see the drive. At all. No matter what I set in the BIOS the drive is never seen by the OS.

I spent an hour or so on the phone with Kingston (Matt is a really nice guy who tried to help), but no luck.

Long story short, What I had to do was initialize and partition the drive in linux, cancel the install and then install Server 2008 R2 which will now see the drive.

Kingston is escalating this issue and I will post back here if they provide a fix.

    Hahahaha, nice.

Good to hear you got it working...that fix gave me a good laugh.
