Announcing for the first and only time, the TBCS Folding Team! In this article, we aim to gain donors for the distributed computing program called Folding@Home, answer any questions you may have, and gain recruitments for our very own TBCS team! So let's start this off, after the break...

Nice! I know there have been some unofficial efforts in the past, but this is good to have official. As soon as I get my system working again I'll definitely be hooking it up.

And all this time I've been folding for these impostors! Maybe I don't want to switch!? Maybe I'll be a renegade! Oh alright, you talk me into it...

And what are the specs on the system that's pulling 45k ppd?
    I'll procrastinate tomorrow.

That was Trace's system - as you can see from the Active CPU's thing, it isn't being run at the moment - so it's up to us to go and get this thing started.

And I have the first question for those of you who know what the hell you're doing heh...

I have a 2 GPU system - I'm running a 4870 as my main adapter running my 22", with a 4350 idn as a secondard card running a pair of 19"'s - it appears that f@h is using the 43 series card instead of the 48 - anyone know how to make it use the faster card - the slower card IS in the first PCI-e slot but it kinda needs to stay that way as the oversize heatsink on the 48 blocks my lone PCI-e x1 slot which I use for my USB3 card...

I disabled my 4350 and restarted the GPU client then re-enabled the 4350 and now it's running on the 4870 but I want to make sure it always does as the 4350 is passively cooled and was already headed for 70c after about 10 mins of folding - the 4870 has a nice big cooler on that so I have no worries about it keeping cool if left overnight....

EDIT: Damned thing just switched back to the 43xx card so I've left that disabled now so only the 4870 CAN be working but I don't want to give up 2 monitors for the sake of some folding lol.... HEYULP.....

Trying it now - here's hoping - I started CPU and GPU1 and didn't start GPU0 - activity is currently showing on the 4870 so just a matter of time to see if it actually DOES anything...

    I barely pull 250/day on my P4 3GHz....
And my MSI GeForce 4 is incompatible with the GPU client.....
    Frustrations, frustrations, frustrations....

I just switched over. I was previously running Seti for another forum, but I was the only one with active computers, and F@H is a better cause. I have my C2D imac, my 9800GTX, and 1 core of my Phenom 2 folding.

My 6870 isn't 'compatible' either but I used the fahtracker I linked above to force it to use it. It works perfectly fine, so I'm not entirely sure what they mean by 'compatible'. It's worth a shot if you want.
