    Default A little overclock, Core i7 950 3.07 to 4.25

    Hey everyone.

    I hope things are going well.

    I just finished a pretty long overclock session and got my Core i7 950(3.06) up to 4.25.

    I feel like I'm over volting the p*ss out of it but it just won't get stable without some pretty high numbers in volts.

    Temperature not really an issue. Only just breaking 80c at max load.

    Clock 23x185 = 4.25
    V core = 1.575 volts (this seems really high to me)
    RIMM = 1.68 volts

    Love some feedback.

    What are you using for cooling?

    Nice, looks like we have another entry in the 4GHz club.

    Only other thing I brought past stock was the DRAM which is 1.7.

    I'm water cooling the CPU and GPU. I'm a little nervous because I don't have the Northbridge in the loop.

    Water....It's pretty beefy. 1/2 inch tubing, DD 2x 120mm Rad.

    Thanks for the feedback.

    1.375V is the maximum recommended voltage for i7 900 chips. You might want to be careful with that as i7s are very sensitive to additional voltage. I definitely wouldn't go any higher for normal usage.
