Default Enable Multitouch on ANY synaptics touch pad on Any laptop.

Just found out that you can enable multitouch on any laptop with a synaptics touchpad by swapping out whatever brand drivers you have for the hp envy drivers. i have my 2 finger scroll and pinch to zoom back for my alienware and i love it.

Step 1: Uninstall Current touchpad driver (if you arent using 7 then you may need a mouse to do the next steps)
Step 2: Go to HP.com and download the touchpad drivers for the HP envy 14 inch, Note, the synaptics drivers from the website will not install over current drivers because they show up as being older.
Step 3: Install the Hp Drivers
Step 4: change multitouch to on in the mouse settings in control panel
    Step 5: ????
    Step 6: Profit

My ASUS G73 laptop is multitouch enabled but thanks. I am going to try this on the wife's Toshiba (not that she uses the touchpad, but just to check)...

    Thanks!

Ya know I don't think I have a synaptics touch pad on my laptop

    Thanks, MSI

I'm still going to give it a try anyway

    O.O OOOoooohhh....

    Sounds nice.

I know that Ubuntu has the 2-finger built in. But PTZ????

    Gotta try that.

Interesting...I'll have to try that on my old HP dv6885se. Make an interesting side project.
