I haven't tried a different router, but I'm thinking thats my final option.

I really think its a software issue of some sort because the I have the exact same problem with the computer's integrated wireless (which normally goes un-used). Unless of course you think some else went wrong on a motherboard...I don't really know much about how the different chipsets interact.
