DAW questions

I Have been using my pc mostly for home recording for my band lately. I currently have an older creative 5.1 surround set, and an old sound blaster live 24bit pci sound card.

i'm thinking about getting a new soundcard,i m not too concerned about maintaining the 5.1 as i have a surround headset i can use for gaming.

i currently use asio4all with my usb guitar cable and that eliminated the input lag.
i know i will be getting a new usb pre-amp maybe an m-audio fast-track, or line-6 guitar-port both of which have ASIO drivers which eliminates the need to asi4all.

what i really need help with is recommendations for good reference monitors.

For the interface, I'd go with an M-Audio, Lexicon or Tascam. I'm currently using an older Alesis interface, but their new products have really gone down hill.

For monitors, I've always been a fan of M-Audio on the cheap/minimal or Yamaha for fancier setups. Me and my friend have both in the different parts of our studio.
