You may be out of luck on the full coverage block. I was in the same boat with my Sapphire 4870, since it's not a reference card. I used a Swiftech MCW60 block and some copper ramsinks with no problems though.

Zalman makes an aftermarket VRM cooler that's cheap also.

lol funny thing about that little vrm cooler is i have it on my card already along with the v100 heat sink or something like that. but i cant overclock worth **** and it gets hot. so i figure i would try to do this. if i find a gpu block that works will i have to add another rad. right now i have a swift tech 360.

The 360 should work fine for cooling both your CPU and GPU. What temps does your CPU get now?

One thing I've seen done before is to cut a hole in the stock HS/F for a universal waterblock, so you have great cooling for everything else without trying to figure out 'Does this chip need cooling? How much?'.

i dont have a stock heat sink never did. my temps right now are in the 17c to 20c depending. i think im going to get the swifttech cover block it covers all the memory or the bits power freezer but i cant find reviews on either one.

Wait, you're having trouble overclocking it with 17c temps? That's not a cooling issue.

40-50 is well within the safe limits of the card i think you have a dud

i doubt very much more cooling would help.

if you haven't already change out the thermal paste and see how that fares. also try getting a lunch box ice pack and stick it (in a tray) near your gpu intake to help cool the air.
