LCD hacking...

How difficult would it be to take the LCD from a memorex iFlip video player and get it working with a laptop as a temporary replacement? Perhaps I could just splice some cables? lol

Most likely not. All LCD's have their own PCB controllers for the LCD. You could perhaps find the pin out or a controller board for it.

Well, LCD controller boards for the most part today are standardized, but that is for laptops. I'm not sure if it would work. You obviously try, but I wouldn't do anything that you are not confident you can't un-do when the fun is over.

Grab a external montior and plug it in the laptop then hit FN+MON ?

I don't think you can swap screens like that though as whats his face said.

If you can find a PCB diagram for the Flip screen controller, there's a possibility of tapping into the RGB/Sync inputs.. got a model number for the screen, or the player?

Stamped onto the back of the monitor is GLT-R6101208003-H and right under that is 8.4 CCFL 06.07.08

There is also a sticker with a barcode on it. Upper left says LR084AA011 and then upper right says 0681JA006145

Bottom of sticker reads Made in Taiwan CHILIN TECH REV.0

There are two PCB boards. One up top and one at bottom. The top one plugs into the bottom one and there is a ribbon cable from the LCD that plugs into the bottom/larger PCB.

Top PCB reads CGE00032401519 and under thar it says SBL0801107-01-GP(060

Bottom PCB doesn't really have anything. It just has a silk screen print that reads BOSWAY E252868 BS-2 94V-0 3306 ...each segment is in different font and size. Except the BS-2 bit which is apart of the E252868
