I would recommend putting another 360mm fan on the side with the radiator; otherwise I don't think you'll get much airflow through there. Also, make sure you have plenty of airflow over the HDDs, don't want them to overheat.

So, am I reading this correctly that the two systems noted above are all hardware you already have? The 1TB drives make much more sense now

tnx for the info i'll see how i'll solve the prob with the fan around the rad. all the hdd's are in an liquid cooler so they wont have the problem of no airflow

only the last system hardware i have, the first system i'll have to buy

Ah, ok. In that case, since you're spending so much on it anyways, I would highly recommend throwing another 6GB RAM kit in there for a total of 12GB. I promise, you will get a nice performance boost.

For the HDDs, how do you have them managed right now and are you planning on incorporating the 3 new 1TB drives into an existing volume or will they operate independently?

Well, for RAM, I know when I went from 4GB to 8GB there was a pretty sizable increase in performance. It was most noticeable in RAM-intensive games, but even just in normal desktop usage I noticed a difference. I can't comment from experience about the difference between 6GB and 12GB, but given the rest of your setup, I think it would be a very worthwhile addition. Just make sure you're running a 64-bit OS, or anything over ~3.5-4GB will be wasted.

For the HDDs, if you're operating them independently, I would recommend using the Samsung F3 1TB drives instead. Most of their specs are the same as the Seagates' (32MB cache, 7200 RPM, SATA II), but in addition they have 500GB platters instead of the 250GB or 333GB that the Seagates use (I forget which it is). Because of this increased data density, they have a significant performance increase. In fact, I've seen them outperform Velociraptors (on the internet, not in person, haven't actually seen either in person ). I'm assuming these 3 will be running the OS and apps for the gaming system? If so, then the performance boost is well worth it.

I've never played the games, but I love the movies; up until they did the animated one. I could say the same for Silent Hill. Never played the game but the movie is awesome
