Hey all,I'm new to this case building scene. Yet I've been making wood furniture for 4 years now in my HS wood working class.
---------------------------------------
My reason for making a wooden case from scratch, for my first ever case modding project is that.
1. I have 4 years experience with wood working.
2.I can get high quality wood from my shop class..cheap,and i even have the ability to get a hold of the 5 star quality wood..if wanted
3.I'm entering my project into a massive wood working competition ,as i have done in the past 3 years
-info on what the competition is like-http://americanwoodworker.com/blogs/resources/archive/2009/02/19/school-news-big-show-in-michigan.aspx

----------------------------------------------
I have skipped a lot of steps,of which I should of posted b4 ...but the past is the past.
STEP ONE- is my cad concept for my modern contemporary design of a wood case.
STEP TWOish.............
1.I got lumber from the saw mill cherry, and I then precut countless shapes to a approximate length
2. edge the boards so i can get multiple boards, out of cut lumber
3. plane cut boards too thickness
4.fine cut the boards to the final size, from rough
STEP THREE
Glue several smaller boards together to make small posts
STEP 4
plane all initial posts to right size after glue done drying
STEP FIVE
cut all the posts to final size
STEP SIX
dado cut some of the posts
STEP SEVEN
Morten-miter-son cut slots into some of the posts, so that the dado post with join together all the Morten-miter-son posts.
STEP 8
clamp and glue everything together
STEP 9
current progress at the moment

STEP 10
make panels and router the edges, except the bottom portion
Panel 1
panel 2
STEP 11
router the panels
Bottom routed part of the panels
top routed parts of the panels
------------------------
At the moment im waiting for the moisture of the panels too be let of,f as i routed so many layers of grain off.
therefore im playing a game of cat and moisture
