    Default Photo Gallery Software help

OK, so I feel knewbish posting this, but I have no experience with online photo galleries and was hoping someone here does and could help me get some things setup.

First of all I have my web sites hosted at Bluehost.com (and love them BTW). They offer several photo gallery software packages. They are:

    Zenphoto
    Gallery
    Coppermine
    Pixelpost
    Piwigo

Here is what I want to do:

I have a couple of sites that I want to be able to upload photos to. On my main site (airbozo.com) I would like to have a gallery to upload my photos and be able to hotlink them so I can post here at TBCS and not worry about links going bad (thanks imageshack, photobucket and the like).

On another site (pig-stock.org), I would like to do basically the same thing, but also be able to give others access to the site to be able to upload their photos and create galleries of their own that are accessible to everyone. Some of the people that would be uploading photos are not very computer literate so it has to be easy.

So if someone could recommend one of those programs over the others it would be great. I have played around with coppermiine and zenphoto, but either I am really messed in the head and can't figure it out or they do not do what I want.

    Thanks in advance!

I struggled with photogallery software for a while on my photo site. I finally found my Zen with Drupal. There is even a module for your members to have personal galleries if you want. If you want to go this route let me know. You can check out the basic galleries on both my sites for an example.

I used all of the ones you listed at one point or the other and they all were just a PITA or did not do what I wanted.

Here is how I do it on both my sites.

First I installed the Image module Which I use to import photos and create galleries.
Then I installed the Gallery Manage module to gain more control over the galleries
Then I installed Lightbox 2 which gave me the nice image display when you click on a single image.

I have not used these but I like the way they look.

Gallery Assist http://drupal.org/project/gallery_assist You will need this if you want to use lightbox 2 on galleries made with gallery assist.

I used Gallery v2.3 in conjunction with Drupal which made a very easy to use gallery setup for one of my friend's-wife's website. What I like about it was the built-in ability to enter fields of info about the pics. http://www.syracoon.com/?q=gallery
