Default Looking for good gaming laptop/mobile desktop replacement

Hey guys, before I get started on building my next desktop, I wanted to get a good (or super totally awesome) gaming laptop, this way I can take it to class and have something to do if I get bored or want to goof off. This will also be my desktop when I'm at home, so yes it's technically going to be my mobile desktop. I was also wanting it for watching some HD video (720P is fine, but I would prefer 1080P). If possible I would like to keep things under $2500, but $2000 is even better. I've been looking at the Toshiba Qosmio's and even a Sager NP9850 with a Q9000 Core 2 Quad CPU, and everything else stock for right around $2400... This is one of the few laptops that offer dual GTX280's in SLI, every other laptop is more than $2500 with this config...What do you guys think? Any feedback is appreciative

How much gaming are you expecting to do with this laptop versus how mobile do you want it to be? Speaking from experience, I would not recommend taking a 17" laptop to class every day...they're just too big and (usually) heavy. Additionally, in the case of the Sager you mentioned, those dual 280's are gonna get crazy hot, so you're not gonna want to use it on your lap...basically that would be a desktop that you can move around fairly easily..not a laptop.

With that in mind, personally I would recommend the Asus G51J-A1:
    15.6" 1920x1080 display
    4GB RAM
    i7 720QM
    dual 320GB SATA HDDs
    GeForce 260M
    $1500
    7.26 lbs

Thanks for your input guys. My friend has an Asus G51 himself and it's a great laptop, but I'm was looking for something out of the ordinary, kinda why I started looking at the Sager laptops. Still thinking about it though...

Don't upgrade a thing and you are just under $2500, 1920x1080, and dual GTX 280M cards. If it were me though, I would spend the $120 to take it from 2.53 to 2.8Ghz.

It's true desktop replacement, because at 18.4" it's huge!!!
