has it stopped reading all discs or just blu ray? did you check for scratches/smudges on the blu ray discs? (they can be really super finicky about scratches, especially since all the info on the disc is really really close to the edge.
at first it was just games now today its all discs blue ray dvd and cd

Most likely it's the diode that's gone and as far as I know you have to send it in for Sony to fix it. I think is was about $175 Canadian to get it fixed (happened to a friend of mine TWICE, second time he bought a 360)
well after further inspection ive discovered that the disc isnt spinning so i think im gonna look on ebay for a replacement module

Hope this doesn't happen to me!

Let me know if you actually do end up fixing the problem be interesting to know what it takes to do it.
well as far as i can tell the spin motor burnt out so it should be just take out the old and put in the new but knowing todays tech more than likely the new module i get wont be recognized by the existing board or some such thing and ill get mad and take it out to a field office space style lol no really though it shouldnt be to difficult my dad is a circutry genius and im sure hell have a trick or 2 up his sleeves ill be sure to pass them along when he gets the time

well i took the thing over to my dads and had him take a look at it and he thought it might be the ribbon cable since it had some decent heat marks on it so we replaced it and viola its runs perfectly fine now so my advice to anyonne who has this problem in the future give it a good cleaning and check the ribbon cable before buying a new blue ray module much cheaper
