My college credits were counted and I'll be leaving for boot camp around November going in as reservist because I wont have a chance for enlisted for another 7 months. After 6 month I'll be able to transfer over if I wish (or at least put in a request to transfer over).
Now that things are starting to move along I decided to take up my recruiter on his offer for PT on Thursday afternoons. I figured it'd be a good workout but when I showed up there were 44 other Marines and soon to be Marines lined up getting ready for warm up exercise drills. I also thought it would be informal as in being able to talk to people like people... nope.
I was up front with them during my interview and they knew I had troubles jogging a 1/4 mile... so... after warm-ups we ended up jogging 1.5 miles, playing basketball... more drills.... ran a mile... more drills... ran the last .5 mile then did a lap in the parking lot. The only "breaks" we got were puking and trying to sneak some walking in... but then paid for it when one of the sgts saw.
It was a BRUTAL 2-2.5 hours.
