    Default White Cocolate covered pretzels!!

This has to be one of my favorite snacks. I buy a clear box of them every week and snack on them through out the day. Well I decided to spend that $5 on the stuff to make them. So I made a gallon bags worth this morning and just started eating on them. They taste like soap got in the chocolate. YUCK!!!! So I will just start buying them again.

Did you track down the source of the soap taste? I cant imagine that adding tasty chocolate to tasty pretzels would = soap, unless something was contaminated.

What sort of pan/container did you use to melt the chocolate?

I dont think burning the chocolate would give that kind of taste either. Hmm.. salted pretzels? Well, that shouldnt do it either..

I used a clear pyrex bowl to melt the chocolate in. I know it was soap free because I double wash everything I eat out of. Once to clean it and again before I use it. I have a serious aversion to soap smells and taste so I am anal when it comes to making sure its all off my dishes. I ate some of the non coated pretzels and they tasted fine so I think it was the chocolate.

The only reason I asked it that aluminum will alter the flavor of chocolate. Just about anything besides stainless steel or glass will affect the final taste of any chocolate. (white chocolate is really NOT chocolate but the fat is the same and is affected the same).

Yea I heard that on the food network one time. I called my mom and she said to use glass so I used glass.
