    Default pulsating lights?

so, i've got this pretty bad ass case, and after my hubby bought a power supply for his pc that was too big and had it sitting ontop of his tower, i started day dreaming about the cables that were exposed connecting the power supply to the rest of the pc. to me, it looked kind of like a heart and a major artery sitting exposed. my first thought was, wouldn't it be cool if his power supply could pulsate like a heart beat? when i told him, he called me demented and said he wasn't going to think about his pc like that. So, i began to think about my own pc. I've been wanting to add light effects to it for a while now, and while i don't want the entire thing to pulsate all the time, i think it would be pretty damn kick ass to have lights that pulsated on start up and shut down. i'm just not sure how to do it.. any suggestions?

Hmm.. I'd talk to Rendermandan about something like that.

Well you could organize the cables with wire loom on the other case,
and add a on/off switch to the lights of your own box.

I had a really good link to some circuit schematics, but of course the server for the site is down right now. I'll post it when it's up again.

    Hmm, can you solder?
I've heard them called throbber circuits with a 555 chip. Here's one I wired up awhile back to a 5 mm LED. Youtube has a whole series of how-to guides.

I wound up using one of these in Cobra-matic. You might send them an email and ask how much power you can put through circuit.
