    Default Abit AWD9-MAX info

Alright, I just scooped up this board NIB from a member here, as I believe my Intel D955XBK to have finally let out. One reason I got this board instead of something newer is that I can still use my Pentium D proc with it, and upgrade that later on. Now it says it supports all LGA775 procs including the C2D, and it says its quad-core ready. what exactly does that mean? can I pop a C2Q in there and hAve it work?

I havent been able to find any info on what "quad-core ready" means exactly.

update the bios, and yes, you should be able to just pop a quad core in it.
The original bios wont have the microcode to support a quad core, but update to the newest ( which is '18' i think) march 2009 updated. It should cover all the latest 775 procs to date (as far as i know)

its a beta bios, but seems to be pretty stable from what ive read about it.

    good luck!
