I couldn't find what I wanted, how I wanted it. That, and I was getting sick of beige. Being cheap was (and still is) a major factor as well - working with what you have, rather than buying what you'd like it to be.

I don't remember how I got here, to be honest. Probably was linked to some project or another - I remember Defyant's bondo and reservoir work having a major impact on me earlier on.

My first mod was simply pulling the outer panels off of my main rig at the time, a Duron 900 system of no particular merit, and giving 'em a coat of red Rustoleum. I've undertaken a number of minor projects since, but can't seem to finish one entirely, either due to a lack of resources (my early modding was limited to work with a hacksaw and file) or loss of inspiration. I've got half a dozen things going right now, but only two, sometimes three of them in any state of activity - this is why I don't tend to post my logs on here!

Anyway, the inspiration seems to be "function over form", in general, at least where actual computer cases are concerned. The other mods - PC Load Letter, the electric Smith-Corona I haven't named yet - don't really fall into that category.

Gee, it damn sure took me long enough to find and add the origin of the first quote...
