I was more thinking of some companies making a MicroSDXC to SATA converter (maybe taking a few MicroSDXC cards and put them in RAID 0).

Nice link but I'm not sure why you're bringing up 2.5" form factors haha. On a side note, I hope that brings down the price of these tiny 2.5 SSDs.
Also, most new smartphones can handle up to 32+gigs. which means by the time these chips are out, they will be able to handle at the very least, double that. 2TBs? That seems a little out of reach for 2009 as far as phone compatibility is concerned but then again, according to the article, the 2TB micro's aren't expected to be out in 2009.
I was just bringing the SSD in as comparison. We were talking about never before seen large capacity storage anyway weren't we .

This should bring down the price of other mechanical drives slightly.

I doubt we will see 2TB SDXC cards ANY time soon. I'd give that 8-10 years, but who knows. It's just that the spec has been set to handle 2TB cards.
Still, that would be crazy to have 2TB in super small cards. You could have a petabyte in like what, a shoebox?
