    Default CrossFire different cards?

Can I CrossFire two different cards that both have CrossFire? Like the 3850 and the 3870?

Yeah, but currently they have to be the same generation and series.
    i.e. 3850 and 3870, or 4850 and 4870, or 4650 and 4670, etc.

    Hope that helps,

Yes you can, In fact that is the major advantage of crossfire over SLI, but don't forget, you can only use ONE MONITOR if you crossfire or SLI (just mentioning this for people who don't do their homework and get very upset when they can no longer use both their monitors).

    Good luck Satan

Actually Crossfire and SLI can both do multi-monitor now. Crossfire has been able to do it for a while and SLI just got it in the 180.xx drivers...

I guess so that u can take advantage of all of that graphics horsepower and play across multiple screens.

But wouldnt it just be easier to have 1 card per screen? I guess if card1 < card2 and you want to even them up i'd understand...but if they're equal you might aswell just use 2 un crossfire'd cards?

But if you're using one graphics-intensive program or game, that's the only way that it can really utilize the combined power of both cards.

Is it still the case today, that cards have to be from the same series? I`ve got an 3870 and am buying a new 5770 and was wondering if i could crossfire them...
