    Default MicroATX Question

Whats with MicroATX? Are they just smaller for smaller cases? Could I buy a MicroATX mobo that is as good as an ATX mobo?

Yes, they are just smaller. Many people (including me) prefer full-size, if it's in the budget, because they have more slots, and come on, if you have a window in the case, a board that covers more of the inside always looks better.

Thanks. I might go with one because of the price on them.

I go with them if I have a small budget for a specific build. I often go with insanely cheap boards that still have somewhat decent reviews and the features that I need, unless the budget allows for something better. Other than limited overclocking ability, my full-size atx board (only $30) in my computer has been great.

Only get the feature that you want/need, then you can look for more features, if your budget allows for it.

I think that I might wait until after Christmas so I know how much money I can spend since I will have some cash coming in from all relatives. I might be able to spend more than expected, then again, I might have to spend less.

Okay. I heard that Circuit City is going to have some mad Christmas deals since they're going out of business.

I think MicroATX motherboards are wonderful little things.

I took a Pentium D 915 from 2.8 to 3.6 on air cooling on a microATX motherboard. They are adorable too.
