Funny, I just did a check from our distributors and a 16gb kit (2x 8g) is ~$2500. New.

You could buy a car for the price of that RAM. It is much cheaper on overstock.com, around $2800. The overstock price is still more than I paid for my first and second cars put together.
I'm sure they make 16gb sticks too
