Default HELP! Setting up MadWiFi on Ubuntu laptop

I'm in over my head here.

I need to get a D-Link DWA-642 RangBooster N NoteBook Adapter to work on Ubuntu. I have downloaded the MAD WiFi driver but i cant figure out what i have to do compile the damn thing. I keep getting BASH errors through the terminal.

The term "noob" comes to mind...

I'm completely lost here. Help Me Please!

if you have the windows discs and have the ubuntu disc, try installing NDIS wrapper,

    thats easier than MadWIFI,
Load synaptic package manager, and in the options tell it to look on the ubuntu CD, click reload and search for NDISWrapper,

    you need

    NDISWrapper
    NDISWrapper Common.

restart and theres a new option in system-->Admin to use windows wireless drivers, copy the windowsXP drivers to your HDD somewhere, and select them through the application mentioned, you should then beable to connect to your wireless through the normal method.
