(You have my sincere sympathy on the time you wake up. At that time of day I am starting to think of bed. I did the morning thing for a while and I HATED it. Hope it works better for you than it did for me.)

Rush (the canadian progressive rock band) Recorded the track "Malignant Narcissism" with a borrowed bass and a borrowed drum set. Geddy Lee was using a bass that Fender was letting him try out, and Alex Lifeson had already shipped his drum set home, so he built a 4-piece (presumably bass drum, snare, hi-hat and a tom) drum set for the song. And you'd probably never guess it.
When Iron Maiden was on their Number of the Beast tour (in which they received a lot of criticism for being "satanists", where the truth is that some of the band members are born-again christians and the song is a warning against satanism), their tour director got in a car accident with some Nuns in London. The repair bill for the Nun's car was 666 pounds. The tour director refused to pay 666 pounds and insisted on paying more.

Fact: I saw that tour in 1982 in Rochester, NY. A 25' tall "Eddie" marrionette pranced around on stage.
Fact: the numbers '666' are in a row in my SSN
Fact: I saw the Ramones in concert in 1984 but can not remember a second of it...
Fact: When I was 13, a 17yo girl was obsessed with me and wanted to kidnap me.
