    Default Antique PC's for You!

As you all well know I bought some antique PC's some time ago. Since then I have been thinking about the innards. I'll be utilizing this thread to post the disassembly of the Antique PC's. I want to start a PC wallpaper in my work area. I'll be systematically gutting the old PC's and nailing the motherboards and Internal cards to my wall. When I'm done with each case the external frame will be left and can be purchased by you for er....Modding?

Today I start with the ACE 1000 that was originally Released in 1982. It was a clone of the Apple 2.

    Here's the case.

    And the breakdown.

    That's one big PSU!

The reset switch was just under the lip.

As you can see the bottom separates from the plastic framing. That's real helpful when trying to cram new parts in.

This is my favorite part. I held the motherboard up to the light and look at that! Definitely something cool about mobo's pre multi-layer. I'll make sure that I mount a light behind this when I put it on the wall.

Well, I don't swing that way, but I guess we can at least hug.

Actually this is not a WORKLOG, but I couldn't think of where else to post this kind of thing. I think I'll take apart my TRS 80 Color Computer tonight.
