    Default Custom Power/Reset Buttons

Hey I was wondering if anyone had ideas or knew of some places that offered interesting alternatives for the Power and Reset Buttons on the front case.

The best I've seen so far are the protected buttons that have the red cover you have to flip up first and then toggle the switch under it, and the other is a keyed lock that you turn.

I also liked the idea of using a keypad but I don't want to build a circuit board for it right now. Anyone have some good ideas on this one?

I agree, I love the look of the Vandal proof ones. You can search them on frozenCPU.com too.

I'd go with "two wires, one red, one black, hanging out the front of the case".

There's always the "jump start" as well, involving a screwdriver and the pins on the motherboard itself...

I imagine he's not looking for either of these, but they will work in a pinch!

lol i've been using the screwdriver method to install the operating system and what not while i work out my switch issue. i'd totally be game for the hot wire approach except the case is for my g/f and she's....dangerous with technology. i'll check out the vandal proof switches though, thanks

Hey, if I can teach my mother to turn on a computer with a short length of wire (my Tbird's power switch requires you to short a certain pin in an AT-style keyboard connector to the surrounding metal) then I doubt your girlfriend can do much damage!

That's how I've started up my computer for half a year.

Find out how big your switch you want replacing is, if it's a 16mm one then head to this link if it's a 22mm one then head to this link

both pages have exactly the same switches, just in the two different sizes :>

edit: Im currently in the process of replacing my Antec p182 power switch with one on that page, probably the aluminium with the white "ring" led, looks much better than my stock plastic one, just means I have to hid my current power led :p
