Xp SP2 to XP SP1 spanish

i dont know what else to do. got a system running XP SP2 english of course but i'm trying to change it to XP SP1 in spanish. Spanish disk wont boot from start up so i get kicked into regular XP. from within i try to load the disk but before installation i get a pop saying new current install is newer blah blah blah and wont let me get passed it. figured i'd do it from command promp, i get the same message. made a dos bootdisk but it wont let me access the cd drive nor the c drive. anybody know what i'm doing wrong?

you need have your cd drive boot before your harddrive. so enter your bios and switch it around.

i did, i got cd/floppy/HD in that order....

Sounds like a clean install is what you need. I don't think XP will let you downgrade service packs.

It will not. You have to first format your drive with the dos utility. I use a Win98 boot disk for fdisk/format. You can get a win98 boot disk maker online.

depends if your cd is bootable or an upgrade, and if you want spanish just download the language pack from microsoft
