my fan is just a 120MM fan, its not a PWM fan. It has a 3 pin connector that i have hooked up to a fan controler and it wont let me change the speed for some reason

oh ya, silly me, i forgot about the fan. what fan and cfm can it push?
with a fully loaded temp of 55C that means your everyday load will be around 45-50C so you can overclock a little bit. i would try for 3.0GHz @ 1.3- 1.35v and see what temps you get.
i'm hoping you have a low cfm fan to which i say get a high speed one in its place and get 2 for a push pull config.
CPU: Q6600 G0 3.5GHz@1.4v (4.2GHz max) / 4790k 4.8ghz @1.265v
GPU: 9800GTX /GTX780 hydrocopper
Ram: Samsung 4GB /gskill 16gb DDR3 1600
Mobo: EVGA-NF68-A1 680i (P32) /AsRock Extreme6

CPU & GPU: 3x Swiftech MCR320, 2x MCP655, MCW60 R2, Dtek Fuzion V2, 18 high speed yates @ 5v
i dont remember the exact model but mine is either 88CFM or 110CFM (probably the latter)
but if you consider that low cfm.... then idk
no thats high. add a second and i could see temps drop 5C.

Is the motherboard automatically overvoltaging it? Try setting the speed and voltage manually, if you haven't already.
add another fan? where, theres no connectors for the other side of the HSF. What voltages should i have?
use what ever you have to use, zip ties is best i think.
stock voltage for q6600 is i think 1.2 +/- .05v

Or often, it will say overvoltage, and you can just say +0, but you might have to say 1.2, or whatever.
it was stock (auto) at 1.28Volts so i didnt change it.
ill do some moddin tommorowz
unfortunately i left the 1 left over fan at school when i was done building so i need to get that. But im going to move one of the HDDs out of the way of the CPU.
