Mary had a little lamb. It bumped into a pylon. Ten thousand volts went up its arse and turned its wool to nylon!

I installed XP SP3 and it added 20 seconds to my boot time.

@ pope: it think the 32 sec is because i boot from the 10000 rpm raptor drive and I have no stuff to load but Xp pro SP2. but still cool to have a fast starting machine. if my girl wants to look something up on the net. and no pc's are on she always boots that game rig... its quick. the fun part is that i switch my screen on separated from the rig and most of the time i did not realize its off and when I turn it on the PC is already booted and ready for use.

hmm... i'll have to try that when i get home. on my AMD, i was getting about 15-20 seconds. of course i hit msconfig and had everything nonessential turned off and no boot screen. but with my new mobo, it brings up the stupid biostar t-force logo. i'll have to figure out how to turn that off.

to TGS: have you tried booting with pre-SP1 XP Pro? i think that was the fastest loading one. i know when i installed SP2 on my old Thinkpad, it killed my load times (with SP3 its at about 2min boot right now)
If it ain't broke, fix it 'til it is!

It's never worth down-grading to SP1. I remember back with Windows 2000, I'd have to wait a good 3 minutes....

And then, without SP1, you're locked out of all of the new updates released after SP2
