I still have to adjust the Saturn ring into the center utilizing my adjustment bolt.
Forgot to take the picture but I drilled lots of holes in the center before I put the fan on.
I figure I'll just wait till all the cutting is done and do the fine tuning in the end.
Got a few leds going and hooked fan up. .For now. The entire thing will be lit up verrry soon!
Im reading up on how to make the lights alternate. I would like to make it look like the rotating rings on saturn.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Crazy. I definitely like it.
What you need are many different rings, so i suggest using two slim fans instead of one regular fan. Or you could cut small holes into the PC fan blades, and thread some thin fishing line through the holes. Then attach LEDs to each end.
Or for the glass approach, you could get more glass circles (different sizes) and place them on top of each other. Then use LEDs to illuminate each layer of glass.
For LED movement, you may want to PM "ferry" (he's the best at alternating LEDs ).

If you can still find one in stock somewhere, try an AeroCool Aerobase mouse pad.
http://www.aerocool.us/p-peripheral/...e/aerobase.htm
It has 11 blue leds soldered to a circuit board about 3 inches in diameter (that is once you dremel it out of the acrylic mouse pad). The leds are soldered parallel to the circuit board so the whole thing is about 5 inches in diameter. The important piece is that it has 15 flashing sequences including rotating clockwise and counter clockwise. Check the video at the link.
Case-Mod supposedly still has them in stock but I don't know how reputable they are (got this googling)

You can also try a "chasing led" electronics kit:

I bought another smilodon case from newegg and the front was damaged so i got them to send a replacement.
Im going to use the damaged front from that, and the front panel that was on this pc case originally and make one, Kewl New front panel.
Need Some ideas. . on how to paint this thing. God forbid it ends up sticky and scratch off!
Here is what I have in the works for the top. The are gonna be enough fans in there to blow the cards out of the box
I guess I'm gonna have to use a black power supply. Forgot about that. Food for Thought.
Thats a good thing to. It just dawned on me "I'd damn better make sure I leave room for the computer parts "
Should I cut the top out bigger? Like open accross the the top more mesh?
instead of futzing w/ that, if you really need the space, then just elongate the case from the middle. better to screw around with flat surfaces for a short time than oddly shaped ones for much, much longer.

Well. That was kind of the idea of the case to move away from the Rectangle.
I know what you mean though. It will turn out quite nice, I belive.
