    Default My new build

So, I decided that it's time for a new computer. I'll be buying a part or 2 every payday. What do you guys think?

I'd replace that PSU that comes with that case with a better one. Other than that, looks like a damn good system!

Personally, for a good computer, I'd buy a nice coolermaster case or something; rosewill's fine, but buy a decent power supply separately.

id replace the cpu and the gfx. no point in buying a low end system when you can get something better for a few bucks more... in the end you wont regret it.
is that a 120.9 raddy on your case, or are you just happy to see me?

    What would you suggest?

BTW, here's what I'm upgrading from:
P4 2.6Ghz (no HT, can't remember what FSB speed is)
    1gig Kingston RAM @ 233Mhz
    AGP 8x GeForce 5500

I'll be re-using the DVD burner that I have now. I'm not a hard core gamer (obviously), but wanted the next gen gfx card and Dx10.

word of cuation, the 160gig drive is on noisy mofo, i have one and you would be better off going with their 320gb single platter se16

also, for the same price, i think the 512mb 9600gt will outperform the 256mb 8800gt. or heck, you could even pick up a 3870 for cheap now too

those are just my two suggestions, the rest looks great

Dude, I didn't even see that the 9600 was the same price! Guess what I added to the list... muhahahahahahahaha!!!!! +rep. I just got that 160 gig drive for my dad, and didn't think it was bad at all. Then again, you need ear plugs to be in the same room as my computer is now. I'll keep an eye out for a 250 or 300 gig drive though. I do loves me some storage! And by all means.. if you guys see something that you think would work better for the same price.. LINK IT!

While I was thinking about it, the rosewill psu will probably be garbage, and I found a very nice looking coolermaster case without a psu for 10 bucks less

and a nice antec modular psu to complement it

other than those two items, I'm pretty sure you'll be quite happy with that build

Thanks dude. I added those. Modular PSU's are sexy goodness, and I've never had one. I guess I will now! +rep after I spread it around.

    EDIT
After changing the case and PSU, I'm only coming out like $20 more than I originally had.

I would find a different mobo...something that doesnt have gpu built into the chipset, especially if you are getting an 8 or 9 series Geforce. Not that it hurts anything, it is just a waste of the chipset.
