    Default Template Design Software

I think this would be the right place for this, I would class it as a tool.

My question is, what software do people use to draw templates.

Say you wanted a perfect template to cut a hole in a case/acrylic for a rad, res, window etc and didn't want to hand measure/draw it what software would/could you use to have it print out to the correct scale.

I have tried using PowerPoint and the like but its not really suited to the task in the slightest.

    Anyone any tips or recommendations?

You probably want a CAD program. AutoCAD would be the best choice, but I take it you don't want to spend anything in the $1000 range? Try out CadStd. It's a very usable CAD program for free.
