Default Prime95 / swapping stock HSF

AMD64 3500 with stock hsf. figured I kill two birds with one stone and try some minor ocing then test with prime to heat the core up and swap the stock HSF for a Zalman. I have a gig of ram, how much should a I dedicate to prime to get a decent run and heat up my core enough to cleanly remove the HS? I've heard half or more on blend is pretty effective, but I would like some advice. thanks for any replies.

I would have it run on idle cycles, that way you can use your computer if you need to, and if not you can just have it use everything avaliable.

    cpu 10x
    htt 4x

running a 24 hour blend cycle on it now.

but i left vcore and ram voltages on auto
and i left pcie frequencies alone

should i bother trying to push these settings? suggestions welcome.
