I tried exiting out, then getting back in, but wouldn't you know it, I had somehow saved the error. I just don't know what the hell happened. I tried everything but everything I did seemed to either make it worse or it fixed the error, but then gave me another one in another location. I eventually gave up trying to fix the error and just decided to erase the problem areas and remake them. Hey, well look at that, erasing them just makes more of them in other areas. Gah!

So I'm done, I quit. There was so much work lost and so little to work with when I was done with it all, I just decided to erase the entire file. So yea, screw you to either sketchup or my pc. It was probably a mixture of both.

Btw, I only seem somewhat calm right now because I gave my computer a pretty good kick. Which did two things; hurt my foot and turn off my pc. Nothing like a mixture of pain and the thought of "oh crap, thats not good" to calm you down. lol
    What program were you using?

Zeph, I hear ya man. I am in pretty much the same boat unless I can pull something out of my ass. The design was a sick one too. I spent hours searching through how to videos for the perfect scene. Waiting an hour plus for high def vids to stream so I could get all the details.

But I screwed up my cpu and it came back to haunt me. Working in Sketchup, the cpu hung and I lost like 3 hours of work. The other day went to remake it, this time in Blender, spent around 7 hours. Got it all done, but the cpu keeps failing on certain threads or something, because I will save and it will be there saved, but then I quit and reopen and it is gone, least thats what happened. Half way through rendering the image in blender the cpu must have freaked and the pc blue screened. Not only did i not get the render saved in time, my save file was freaking corrupted or whatever happened. So argghhhh. I should have known though, I know the cpu's screwed and yet I kept working on this computer, because I knew renders would take forever on my others.

Ill tell you guys my design though, because unless I can pull something outa my arse it probably isn't going to become digital again, and architechural drawings aren't my forte, im more of a 2d sketch guy, which simply doesn't do the design justice.

    The Way The World Ends

Xbox360, pc, and 17" lcd integrated into one case. 2 waterloops. The case was shaped like an "L" with the 360 in the base, and the screen and pc in the vertical section. The case was designed like the last stage. With the portion of the base that stuck out designed like the red floors from the last stage, with some broken where you could see in and see the 360 hardware. at the point where the floor hits where the screen was it had a jump like the last jump onto the ship. The screen was designed to look like the dropships cargo bay. with the case designed to look like the ship. The inside of the case was themed like the few images from the inside of the ship you get from the multiple games.

The thing that took the longest and the one I regret the most not making its own file and saving it separate was my render/3d design of the warthog. It was climbing up the side of base portion heading towards the jump. It was pretty cool looking to say the least. I only wish I had made each component a separate file instead of just one big file with everything in it.

Maybe I can find another way to convey the design, if not, then good luck to all entrants. I can't wait to see what others design.

Thanks SgtM. If I can find another way to convey it then I will. Ill try to sketch some things out, I just preferred digital as it is much easier to photoshop the textures I had in mind than to draw them out. We will see what I can come up with. Its a busy time with finals and all right now though too, so hours again on something may not be able to happen, but we will see

Oh hell, did we schedule this over finals week again? When do everyone's finals end?

Lol, no its cool. We have to learn how to set time and prioritize and such. I have finals all the way up to Christmas eve. Had things gone my way I'd have a sick entry. I might try and build a miniature model. If I get around to it. Ive already dropped a lot of time on it in vain. Ehh, I learned a lot either way.

Can't go trying to cater to everyones schedules.

...mine don't end until the end of January. :p

Btw, my idea was basically a Scorpion Tank. Basically, it fires Nerf Darts (maybe used for anti theft device? ). lol I thought it was pretty cool at least. I wanted to make it fully functional, but I never got around to figuring out how to make it mobile unless I had a fairly powerful motor (I only imagine it would of been pretty heavy) with either a nice battery (instead of PSU?) or a long extension cord (for the PSU).

It was a kind of cool design that incorporated buttons and switches and windows, but without making it look tacky. I wasn't going for an exact replica or anything, just the basic shape and whatnot. It's case wheels were the tank tracks, not very good for moving it from side to side, but at least it made it easier to push around in a straight line. lol

It had a US Army Jungle Camo paint theme. Another little detail that I liked, just because it made it a little more original than the plain green like in Halo. It was kind of like THIS but with more black, and it kind of had a "ripped" pattern to it.

Thanks for the "+rep for trying" SgtM. At least I got something out of this experience, other than the want for a nicer 'puter. lol
People are stupid; given proper motivation, almost anyone will believe almost anything. Because people are stupid, they will believe a lie because they want to believe it's true, or because they are afraid it might be true. People’s heads are full of knowledge, facts, and beliefs, and most of it is false, yet they think it all true. People are stupid; they can only rarely tell the difference between a lie and the truth, and yet they are confident they can, and so are all the easier to fool.

You still have two weeks, there is plenty of time to refine your design and draw it using another format.

My plans are now as complete as I can get them. It's in two parts.
    * Sketch to show component layout, etc. (With annotations to give insight into WTF I was thinking at the time.)

    * Screenshot from game with a few modifications to show how the finished case would look. (Also annotated, to help you understand where everything would be.)

Submitted my entry it's no 3d sketchup, but hopefully it gets the idea across well enough I think I left out a few details about the case >.< but I think everyone knows about expanding foam and bondo :-P anywho, good luck to everyone. and even if I don't win, I hope someone likes my design!
