This has to be fake... how could that possibly be done?

I doubt it's a fake. Liveforspeed has a lot of outputs for even moving platforms, I'm sure if you looks hard enough, you'll see outputs for speeds, revs, and turbo. As for how it's done, I have a few idea..... but I don't think those gauges are straight from a car, maybe from a volt or ammeter....
It's not fake. The rev drop on gear change up is too well synched for a fake.
ps infact you can see the onscreen "dials" in the vid ... perfectly synched.
After a bit of inspections, I do believe those are servo motors!
EDIT: CONFIRMED!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nggmr7WICuQNow , with a full app on development, that supports up to 6 servos and HD44780 lcd fully configurable.
Currently on development...
Future plan : 8 to 32 digital out
All I can say is Phidgets and some know how and this is definitely possible.
So Cool!

that, in combo with the g25 is just insanely cool. i would made the gauges look a bit better though. hell maybe even get a body of a car and mod it all in.

What I was thinking too... mold it to the wheel frame. it'd be a pretty bad ass mod.
