Flame polishing plastic

I've been trying to make a window in my case, but f***ed up at the first try. (Did a noob mistake with a scroll saw.) :p

My case came with a fabric made window in plastic, and I wanted to make my one because of the bad quality of the frabric made one.

But after my first try I wonderd if I should try to flame polish the old one. Just for fun to see how it would look.

Anyone who know if it will work to flame polish good old plastic? I've read some howto's about acrylic and flame polishing, but they doesn't mention normal plastic.

Flame polishing is usually done just on the edges of acrylic and yes, even other plastics to clean up saw marks--it doesnt work very well for larger surfaces though--whats your plan?

Ok. Tanx.. I'm planning on flame polishing the whole window to get that old glass-window look. Like the first windows where made. They wasn't straight bulk kinda "bulky" so when you looked trough it the image (or whatever you was looking at trough it was distortet a bit)

What i've done so far:
Placed a brushed silver panel with a thermometer in "the eye of mordor", with blue led in the back of it.

Replaced a glowing, blinking, anoying Thermaltake logo with a brushed steel plate with a print of the "ThePhreak99" text.

Cut out a rectangular hole in the top plastic bracket to get better air flow from the fan undernit it, and painted it black to make it more noticable.
And also I've made a steel plate to cover the 5.25" trays to increse the air flow and to hide them. (You can bearly see the plate trought the window on the pic)

I've bought a fan regulator, where I replaced the blue, ugly front with a steel plate, and underneth there are 2 120mm intake fans. (One came with the case with mounting for 3 hdd's and the otherone I've made)

If your planning to make the window look warped and distorted then the flame polishing might work (Might is used because you have expressed making a noob mistake once before ). Just remimber, it will warp all of the plastic, so you will need to make sure where it is attached to the case is flat.

Just going to test this out just for fun, still going to get some more acrylic tomorrow and lear from my mistakes.

When I bought the case, I thought that it was "the perfect case".. But.. As most case modders know, there is no PERFECT case to buy. You have to make it.

Nice city for partying and a lot of nice girls! It's a lot of universeties (how do you spell that word?) and collages there. So there is plenty of young peoples there, and a lot of partyies there!
