Default Absolute Best 24" LCD Monitor

Me and someone I know have both been thinking about buying a new 24"+ monitor with a resolution of 1920x1200. What I'm looking for is something with specs that are far better than most 24" monitors out there. Price isn't too much of a problem as long as it's under $1000 (I got some massive cash to spend right about now).

    Basics include:
Greater than 1000:1 Contrast Ratio (Not Dynamic)
Less than or equal to 5ms response time
Lots of inputs (VGA, DVI, HDMI and/or Component)

    Thanks in advance,
    Indybird

I really like the SyncMaster line.. especially the bigger ones that get rid of that silver bar at the bottom. This was the best one I could find </= 5ms.

This was the best 24" I could find but it's 6ms and some people say it's actually too bright.

Or you can go with this for a little over 1000. :oP

What about getting a 1080p TV to use as a monitor? Samsungs and Sharps are my favorites..

Thanks, but I already checked newegg and they definitely didn't have anything fitting my requirements.

I would do this but all of the TVs with 1080p, decent contrast and such are way too expensive.

The reason I have so much money to spend is that not only have I started a local computer repair business thats been getting me lots-o-cash, but I also got a 2 year scholarship to the college I've been wanting to go to, so I don't have to save up for that anymore.

EDIT: I also forgot to mention above, that I absolutely love glossy screens, and If you could find a nice-spec'd one w/ a glossy screen that would be perfect!

Thanks, but that 3000:1 contrast is Dynamic, which isn't really 3000:1. Second, it doesn't really have any special inputs.

    Thanks,

I would recommend one of these monitors listed in this review. I've heard a whole lot about the Dell and it has won many consumer awards. I don't know about the samsung myself, because I've never seen one in person, but it looks like it is just as good.

Thats pretty nice, but I'm pretty sure I want something with more than 1000:1 Contrast. Though that is very nice, I'm looking for some even nicer...
