If I install Windows XP 64 bit edition and 4GB of Ram will my 32 bit games play all right? What about other apps and games?

I've heard that they will, but I can't really confirm this.

I'd take a look at Microsoft's website if you don't mind digging through lots of crap to find out... I'm just busy at school, but not so busy that I can't post here. :p

I have a system at home running WinXP64 and it sucks. Some games will play some will not. I have gone through all the forums and even emailed M$ about the 32 bit compatibility mode, that is anything but compatible. I have an extra copy of XP home that I am going to load on the system forever wiping out XP64...
That's how well it worked for me.

Some dfo some don't
If you want to know whether the game will be able to use 4GB or RAM yes, the OS determines memory allocation not the apps, so games won't be limited.
It's not about using the RAM for me; it's just about bragging rights. I don't want to throw in a new mobo/proc [in R2D2], but I would like to make other upgrades. I definitely have more important things to buy than more parts, but I was just curious. Thanks.

I think most of the larger game developers have come out with 64 bit compatibility patches for 32 bit based games (or some jumble of those words)
I know Valve Steam recently came out with a 64 bit patch.
ive got vista 64bit and 4 gigs of ram and most of my games dont have problems just vista says the do and i hit play anyway and they work fine also anything that is games for windows is required by micsoft to have 64bit drivers so yeh i mean finding drivers isnt that hard
Probably new games though....not for C&C: Yuri
