    Default Asus P5K3 Premium

Woah, is this thing crazy. I took a look over at Bit-Tech just now and this was on the front page. What really caught my eye was the 2GB of onboard memory, that guarantees an OC to 1500MHz.

But the price? £550? Isn't that like $1100USD!? Jesus!

    Bit-Tech article.

    Sheesh.

Edit: Also, the thing that originally brought my attention to it was the amount of copper on it. Yikes!

thats cool, its 1100 because its ddr3 and built in. it would be better for 2 expansion slots or have them sell ram that will work with it.

The cool part is it's on a black board instead of green and red and all that, lol... kinda cool.

My EVGA 608i cost $150 and it's on a black PCB...

You know what really sucks nuts about the board though? The fact that all the cooling is interconnected, so if you replace one heatsink, you replace them all. THAT, is pricey, and after spending $1100 on a board, who wants to spend that much more?

I don't know about the integrated memory. Though I'd probably be fine, I wouldn't be comfortable with it. I just don't like the idea of not being able to upgrade. But $1100? No. I would not buy that for $1100. Maybe, and that is a massive maybe, I'd buy it $600.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with onboard memory either... what if it went bad!? Better have a lifetime warranty on that beast. I'd spend 500 max on it.

ya mine is black too, but mines a 680i board not the rare 608i.

that gave me a good laugh. But, I changed my mind, $600 is also too much. $500 is a good price for that...

That would be nice if it were cheaper... I'd almost buy it so I wouldn't have to get RAM, but 2gb seems to be on the low end for a gaming rig, at least it probably will be in a few years when stuff gets waaaaaay better...
