Glad you like it Tempest .

    Well guys, bad news.

Today is my day off, and the day I was hoping to get some of that pesky cutting done. Looks like that's no longer an option. It's -16F here right now (without windchill) so it looks like I'll be working on whatever is possible to do indoors. We'll see what I can get done .

Well, like I said I would, I was working on the non-garage part of this today. I ran into a HUGE problem.

The way I have the radiator and pump mounted doesn't leave enough room for my DVD drive!

    #$@! *&%# NO!

So, I'll be moving the pump to where the res is now, and I'll be making a new res. Great. The only good thing that comes from this is it lets me use some of my new res ideas.

    That sucks.
Hopefully in the end it will work out better because of the new res ideas.

I don't think I've commented on this project previously, but I like it.
I like the style of it.

Yeah that does suck, but you'll use it to your advantage.

    OMFG IT LIVES!!!

Yes, after 5 months of being dormant, the project is back. Our weather here in WI has been quite weird, and because if this I haven't been able to work on this as I'd like. We had snow for the better part of April, we had 40º weather in May (going to 80º as well) and school was hectic. But, now it's summer and I have more time. I don't have anything else for now, but I'm going to get some work done Friday.

Wow, a month and a half since my last post. Time has really gotten away from me. I've got a couple things going on with this project right now. First off is a hardware change. My EVGA 8800GT just took a crap on me and (as soon as I can find an anti-static bag) will be off on RMA. The timing really couldn't have been better though; more new hardware will be in the near future so I won't be using the computer until it's here. Here are the new changes -

Intel QX6700 (or QX6850, I'd rather have the 6700 though)
    - And because I'll be getting a quad and my current board and OC quads...
Asus P5Q or similar 780i board
    - And because the QX6700 has a 1066MHz FSB
    4GB G.Skill DDR2-1066
    New EVGA 8800GT SC
200GB Maxtor SATA that I pulled from my mom's old computer

Total cost of which will be (as of today) around $430. I figure that I'd get better performance out of the QX6700 with the RAM running 1:1 with the CPU verses the QX6850 not running 1:1 with the RAM. That way I'd be able to OC with the unlocked multi on the CPU and tighten the timings on the RAM. Does that sound right? Or do you think I'd be better off spending $40 more and getting the QX6850? I want to keep the upgrade as cheap as possible (which is why I have the P5Q on there; P45 and about $120) so if you can suggest a different board that isn't too expensive I'm open to suggestions. I've been out of the motherboard game for a while so I don't know what's best for overclocking, other than the P45 and X48 being good. I don't have plans for SLI but you never know..

    Anyways...

I've also got some things done on the case and I plan on painting the innards in a little bit. I've put some older hardware in it now, just for a mock-up so I can get an idea of what it'll be. I've got a pretty good idea of where the pump will go (under the two hard drives) but I need to get the rest of the hardware in so I can work out res stuff. Post edit will get some pictures in later tonight.

    Edit:

    Hard drives/pump placement.

Old Gigabyte and new RAM cooler.

Yes, I realize they are stupid pictures but I don't have much else right now.
