    ..Yes.

The glorious EVGA 8800GT in all its.. glory. Time to get that thing back in my computer and working again! New PSU will be here tomorrow sometime, Thursday I have off at work and can buy my new processor (I'm leaning towards the QX6850 again) and I'm just about to look at mobo reviews/prices. More to come in the next few days!

That's a good one video card to get. It will be great with the QX6850.

    I know, I can't wait until Thursday .

So, as I previously posted, I've been looking at motherboards. I've got a pretty big decision to make, and I'm really stuck. Here's the thing; I've narrowed it down to an Intel P45 board or an Nvidia 7xx board. My thoughts:

P45 + Good overclocker, most boards are relatively cheap
7xx + SLI if I want, overclocking seems to be decent
    P45 - No SLI
    7xx - Expensive to get a "good" board (780i or 790i Ultra)

I was originally looking at the Asus P5QC because it could do DDR2/3, but after reading a couple lackluster Newegg reviews I'm back at the choosing stage. Though I usually try to stay away from the lower end of things, I've been looking at 750i boards, like the EVGA 750i SLI FTW. It doesn't actually seem too bad, since I'm not using DDR3 and the 8800GT can only be in a 2-card config, but I mean, it's a 750i. Plus, I'd need to buy MOSFET coolers since the heatpipe would be taken out. The FTW version has PCI-E 2.0 2x16 which is awesome but I need recommendations. School's starting soon so I'll be back to working less be hey, if you guys think I need to just get over it and spend the money on a decent board I'll do it. $250-300 is worth it if I won't be upgrading again in a year.

I got the cheapest possible new full size atx motherboard from newegg. It was $30 , and I got it as a combo deal for $30 off with a case that was $30 after a MIR. It only supports celerons, P4s and Pentium Ds, and has no SLI, and not much overclocking, but it works. I say, that if you have the money, and are not going to be upgrading to one of Intel's eight-core CPUs next year, get the best that your money can buy, that has features that you will actually use, within reason, of course.

The 750i FTW board is a very good contender. A solid board with SLI support. I am putting one in my mates new PC.

    Today is the 14th!

And I just ordered my QX6850 . My computer area has been cleaned, I have an entire cabinet with my Shark stuff organized and I've got a new parts list. Here's what it looks like.

    Intel Quad Core Extreme QX6850
    4GB G.Skill DDR2-1066
    EVGA 8800GT Superclocked
New PSU which you'll see shortly

I still need to figure out a new motherboard and I'll probably get a new pump, probably a Swiftech MCP655. I'll be buying some black paint for the interior, getting some sort of cable sleeving for the LEDs, finish cutting windows and panels and making some covers for parts. Pictures soon.

Great news on the QX6850 mate, a real bargain. AS for the mobo I still think the eVGA 750i FTW board is a very good contender. Instead of the Swiftech pump how aboit a Laing DDC3.2 with a plexi top. It will cost you more but damn they look sweet lol.

I'm selling my current computer to a friend, so I think I will get a Q6600 and a 780i board. DDR3 would be nice, but I don't feel like spending an extra $130 to get the 790i Ultra.
