you have to complete the circut, but i'm not enough of an electrician to tell you how. it's either going to be just one bit of cabeling looped back upon itself, or maybe multiple pins.

Be careful with those things, I accidentally cracked the glass tube on the inside of the plastic slightly on one of a 2 tube system, and that was enough difference in resistance to cause the wires...
