get a 6600 (256 mem ddr3 ,128 bit,) and then oclock it yoo will be able to play hl2 at every thing maxed at a good stable 35fps

I don't know much about linux but I do use it to run my server. I also have to stand up for a bit about windows security, see more people got windows right so naturally more people are gonna find...

actually it was running on pci-e 16x and he had fx-55 and it did not perform as well as his did but it came pretty danm close by about 7 fps on source stress test

6600 aint old ethier i got one in my rig and plays just as good as my friends 6800...

nvidia fx 5700,5900 i would suggest shelling out a little more though and getting a nvidia 6600 128bit,256 ddr3 ram but i think its only pci-e it probably comes in pci though
