    as i recall, thermal compounds tend to get that way. a bit of wiggling (twist the heatsink back and forth, don't pull up) should get it free after a bit

    i don't believe a tray is necessary - i think their main purpose is to give the standoffs something to attach to without poking through the case. somebody might want to verify that though. trays also...

    as long as people are giving personal preferences, i recommend corsair or kingston. the kingston hyperx ram is bloody amazing stuff, and it has this nifty electric blue heat spreader :p
