Which port would be better, AGP or PCI-E? I want something that will stay in production for a long time, and I want to try to get the best graphics for games.

AGP is on its way out, much like the ISA slot. Go with PCI-E
Much like the ISA slot? I havent seen one of thoes in a new mobo for at least 5 yrs, probly 10.
PCI-E is the only way to go!
Yeah, AGP is pretty much dead over here in the UK, only a handful of places even stock AGP cards, and most mobos are PCI-E now.

I still have some old mobos with ISA. There was one slot which didnt really take off at the time but i forgot how its called :P
Outside of the server market, PCI 64 has floundered.
ISA worked well for its time. EISA worked better, but largely flopped.

Go PCI-E. It's faster and AGP is being phased out.
i dont even think my local PC repair guys have any AGP cards in stock. PCI-E is basically the new and improved AGP slot. instead of keeping the same general size and interface and just changing the speed, they pretty much redid the whole damn thing. most cards out there that are worth getting will be PCI-E anyways
I am still on the AGP bus with a 6800gt. It still holds it own. But it is such an upgrade to a PCI-E system. New Proc, Ram, Mobo, GPU and PSU.
Go with PCI-E it is gonna be around for a while.
If u don't mind me going off video card slots...
if you see a motherboard with an eSATA port then you know it's future proof.
AGP is now dead end. PCI-e is future proof for the forseable future.
