LCD mod to case
Ok, i've been looking everywhere for a shop that sells case-mountable lcd's, and alas, have found none. BUT, i have found some sites on the net. Before i commit hundreds of dollars to something my father assures me i don't need and therefore can't live without, I'd like some info.
I was wondering how easy they are to mount, and what size exactly would fit into a standard tower. I was also wondering how it works software wise. Do you just hook it up as a dual-monitor function and run whatever it is you want to run on it as a second pc?
Also, apart from the fact that it looks downright sexy when done properly, what practical uses could it have that i could ensnare my dad with?
I was reading the doom3 case mod (KICK ASS BTW), and apparently he's using a touch screen lcd? How much more would this generally speaking set me back, and is it really worth it?
Just some general questions, if you can give me some info id appreciate it.
Thanks guys! 8)

Re: LCD mod to case
Check out www.earthlcd.com they have add on touchpanel kits for most of the monitors on the site. So if you can afford it, and warrant getting a touch panel, you can add one on. There's a review of an earth lcd on the front page that will answer some of your questions. Not positive but you can probably get a 7 inch screen in your 5.25 bays. The lcd's are measured from corner to corner diagonally, and the 5.25 bays are really about 5.75 inches.
