Re: DeskPooter
OK I need to find some glass hinges. They need to attach to and hold the glass top; two of them, on one side. They will fix at 90 degrees to the vertical surface of the wooden cabinet when the lid is closed. They will open to 180 degrees when the lid is opened. They should hold the (heavy) glass open, or I will do this with chains or ... I am also looking for an electrically activated arm to lift the lid. Ideally everything will be in brushed aluminium or steel.
Here's what we're talking about:
Leads peeps?

Re: DeskPooter
You may want to try shower door hinges, and some LoctiteŽ Instant Glass Glue?
Looks great mannn!

Re: DeskPooter
I wonder if the glue to attach rear view mirrors to windshields would be strong enough, have you ever tried to pull one of those things off?
and you might be able to find an automotive actuator like what they use to automatically open doors and such with. They might be able to run on the 12v rail?
edit:something like this maybe?

Re: DeskPooter
I have an actuator that I am not using, works great off the computer power supply. You may find it useful for opening the glass lid to your DeskPooter. Give me a shout if you're interested.
