They most likely contained genuine Intel Silicon. The guy who makes the Chumbys recently found some counterfeit SD cards in one of their batch orders and he explained that what usually happens is that a manufacturing plant will shut down for the night or holiday or for whatever reason and a enterprising employee will sneak back in and fire up the machines and run off several thousand of what ever product they make. These products often are missing screen printing and have 0% Quality Control applied to them. They are often tossed in a box and packaged later. I will look for the article tonight and post it up.

In this case, the "CPU" was a solid lump of metal and the "HS/F" was a lump of molded plastic.
